Qualifications: MS degree in Counselor Education from the University of Louisiana Lafayette. Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Texas. Counseling Relationship: I regard counseling as an opportunity for both the counselor and client to grow in trust and walk towards a goal together. Both the client and counselor have goals that value self-improvement and that is a journey best done with someone else. Counseling is a chance to define and refine values and work towards expressing those values in a constructive and functioning way. Areas of Expertise: I have received training in general practice and individual counseling. I have focused training on couples therapy in Gottman Method as well as psychoanalytic and existential techniques. I have experience in working with a wide variety of issues including Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Relationship issues, Grief, Stress, Parenting issues, and adjustment issues. I have worked in the area of faith-based counseling and though not necessary for some it helps in regarding the full person and spectrum of issues that may be experienced.
